Tale of Iqbal

Once upon time(exactly 30th May 1991) there was born the first child of couple of teacher. The father hasn't prepared the name for a boy, so the father thought fast and gave his name. His name is Muhammad Iqbal Ghazali. Name of great people, that's a hope of his father to become true.

18 years later, he is now a growing to a man-boy (thought there is he still like a boy) with average body tall, and lower than average body weight, black straight hair, and unstraight tooth row, and if you noticed he have a spot in corner of his left eye.

Well, as a far-far-away-from-college-student he wasn't rent a room at nearest inn form his college, he preferred to take 70 km a day to go to his college and back to home. Everybody had questioned him and what is his answer, he said "For now, the schedule isn't full enough". And due of that the father give him a blue-full engined-iron horse (motor cycle) as a vehicle tought the traffic jam if use the public transportation. For the affect to his choice he always arrive in home college lately and tiredly. Altough he is caused-tired-sleepy he never ever sit the back seat, cause he think it will be waisted if he sit in back row (is also waisted if he is sleep during the study). The parent's had discuss about it and he still stand straight for his choice, so we will never know when he change his mind.

And after all his struggle let's hope he will "happily ever after" in the heaven. Amin.

Penerapan Fungsi Turunan pada Bidang Ekonomi

Pada dasarnya matematika adalah bidang ilmu dasar atau ilmu murni. Dan seperti ilmu murni lainnya matematika mempunyai banyak sekali penerapan pada bidang lain seperti, bidang fisika, kimia, ekonomi, geografi, astronomi, dll. Penerapan tersebut mulai dari perhitungan matematis, logika matematika, sampai fungsi derivatif dan integral yang rumit.

Pada kesempatan ini saya akan menjelaskan penerapan fungsi turunan di bidang ekonomi. Pada bidang ekonomi fungsi turunan dipakai untuk mencari biaya marjinal, yaitu dengan cara menurunkannya dari persamaan biaya total. Bisa ditulis BM=BT’.

Sebagai contoh, jika persamaan biaya total untuk memproduksi 1000 produk adalah 2500+2x+6x^2/3, maka biaya rata-rata untuk 1 buah produk adalah :

2500 + 2(1000) + 6(1000) ^2/3

1000

= 2500 + 2000 + 600

1000

= 5100

1000

= 5,1

Pada x=1000

Dan biaya marginalnya adalah : dBT=2+4x^-1/3

= 2 + 4(100) ^-1/3

= 2 + 0,4

= 2,4

Pada x=1000

Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa dibutuhkan Rp.5100 untuk memproduksi 1000 barang pertama dan membutuhkan Rp. 2,4 untuk membuat 1 barang di atas 1000 barang. Atau setelah barang yang ke 1000, hanya dibutuhkan Rp. 2400 untuk membuat 1000 barang yang sama.

Tentu saja dalam kenyataannya persamaan biaya total bisa saja dalam bentuk fungsi turunan rumit, seperti persamaan turunan parsial, turunan banyak variabel, turunan fungsi dalam fungsi, turunan fungsi trigonometri (mungkin), atau gabungan itu semua (mungkinkah?).
